This school year, our Archdiocesan theme, “Let Peace Begin,” reminds us that Jesus calls each of us to be peacemakers in our homes, our schools, our communities, and throughout the world. Jesus teaches us to love one another, to show kindness and compassion, to forgive, and to treat every person with dignity and respect. As His followers, we are called to be instruments of His peace, sharing His love with everyone we meet.
Peace begins with each one of us. It begins in the little things we do each day: offering a kind word, helping someone in need, including someone who feels left out, choosing forgiveness over anger, listening with an open heart, and standing up for what is right. Every small act of kindness has the power to make a difference and to bring the light of Christ into the lives of others.
In Matthew 5:9, Jesus reminds us, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” May we embrace this calling by choosing love over hate, kindness over hurtful words, and understanding over judgment. As a school community rooted in faith, may we strive to bring peace wherever we go, remembering that even the smallest act of love can have a lasting impact.
Let peace begin with us. Let it begin in our hearts, in our words, and in our actions. And let us carry the peace and love of Jesus into the world, one small act of kindness at a time.
