RCIA / RICA Important Information

For those interested in becoming Catholic and/or receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation, please register below.

WHAT IS RCIA?

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is the process the Catholic Church uses to help non-Catholics learn more about the Church and, if they desire it, actually become Catholic. It is where adults consciously and freely seek the faith and allow that God touches their lives and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit enters their hearts. It is a time of spiritual strengthening and preparation for fruitfully receiving the sacraments of initiation into the Roman Catholic Church.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The RCIA is for any adult or child (over the age of 7) who is interested in learning about and converting to Catholicism or for those baptized Catholics who need to complete the sacraments of First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.

HOW IT WORKS?

Adult RCIA meetings are held on Sunday morning, as well as Sunday morning Mass dismissals. School age RCIA students attend the grade and year appropriate classes in the Religious Education Program on weekly sessions as well as Sunday morning Mass dismissals. The candidate participates in the liturgical year while learning about the faith and the teachings of the Church and, in the process, journeys towards the celebration of the sacraments of initiation. The timeline for each individual is influenced and determined by the many forms of God’s grace, the free cooperation of the individuals, the action of the Church, and the circumstances of time and place.

¿QUE SIGNIFICA EL RICA?

El Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos es el proceso por el cual los adultos consciente y libremente buscan al Dios vivo y entrar en el camino de la fe y la conversión según Espíritu Santo entra en sus corazones. Es un momento de fortalecimiento espiritual y preparación para recibir el fruto de los sacramentos de iniciación en la Iglesia Católica Romana.

El RCIA es también un proceso que prepara a los estudiantes, en el segundo grado o superior, para ser bautizado, para celebrar su Primera Comunión, y / o ser confirmado si tienen la edad apropiada.

¿PARA QUIEN ES?

El RCIA es para cualquier adulto o niño que esté interesado en conocer y convertirse al catolicismo, o para aquellos católicos bautizados que necesitan completar los sacramentos de Primera Comunión y / o Confirmación.

¿CÓMO FUNCIONA?

Las reuniones de RICA para Adultos se llevan a cabo los domingos. Estudiantes RICA de edad escolar asisten al grado y año propio de sus clases en el Programa de Educación Religiosa los martes, así como el domingo por la mañana deberán participar en la misa de 9:30 am y luego antes de la profesión de fe saldrán en procesión con sus catequistas y detrás los adulto. El / los candidatos participan en el año litúrgico mientras aprenden acerca de la fe y las enseñanzas de la Iglesia, el periodo de formación que los lleva hacia la celebración de los sacramentos de iniciación. La línea de tiempo para cada persona o niño fluctúa de acuerdo a su experiencia y encuentro con Dios, la libre cooperación de las personas, niños y padres, la acción del Espíritu Santo, la comunidad de la Iglesia y las circunstancias de tiempo y lugar son factores determinantes para la duración del proceso de Catecumenado o RICA.
