Family Faith Formation is more than a religious education program—it is a parish experience rooted in the Sunday Eucharist. We believe that faith is formed most deeply when families worship, pray, learn, and grow together as members of the parish community.
Parents are the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith, and our parish is honored to partner with families by providing meaningful opportunities for formation, fellowship, prayer, and community. Together, families encounter Christ through Scripture and the sacraments, deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, and discover practical ways to live the Gospel in everyday life.
Whether your family is continuing to grow in faith or preparing for the celebration of a sacrament, Family Faith Formation offers a welcoming path for every stage of the journey!
Program Options
1. Family Faith Formation
This option is for families who want to grow together in their Catholic faith through a parish-centered experience. Families participate in weekly gatherings, prayer experiences, family events, and engaging at-home faith activities that reinforce what is celebrated each Sunday.
As families pray, learn, and serve together, they strengthen their relationship with Christ while becoming more deeply connected to the life of our parish community.
2. Family Faith Formation + Sacrament Preparation
Families whose child is preparing to receive First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion or Confirmation participate fully in the Family Faith Formation program while also completing the additional requirements for sacramental preparation.
In addition to all Family Faith Formation gatherings and resources, this option includes sacrament-specific formation, parent and child preparation sessions, retreats or special events, and resources designed to help parents confidently accompany their child as they prepare to celebrate these important milestones in their faith journey.
Preparation for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation requires two (2) years of formation at a parish.
The Rhythm of Our Weekly Sunday Gatherings
Each Family Faith Formation Sunday follows a simple rhythm that connects worship with everyday life.
Welcome (30 minutes before Mass)
Families gather to connect, pray together, and reflect on the Sunday Gospel as they prepare their hearts to celebrate the Eucharist.
Celebrate (Sunday Mass)
Together, families participate in the celebration of the Eucharist—the heart of Family Faith Formation—encountering Christ through God’s Word, prayer, and Holy Communion.
Live (30 minutes after Mass)
Following Mass, families continue the conversation through faith-sharing, discussion, and formation. Parents participate in adult faith formation while children engage in age-appropriate activities led by catechists, helping everyone discover practical ways to live the Gospel throughout the week.
Every Gathering Is Different
No two Family Faith Formation gatherings are exactly alike. Throughout the year, families will experience a variety of opportunities for prayer, learning, fellowship, and service. Some Sundays the entire family will participate together, while other Sundays children will gather with catechists as parents engage in their own faith formation and discussion. At times, all generations will come together for prayer, service projects, or parish celebrations.
This variety reflects the richness of parish life and recognizes that faith is formed through worship, relationships, conversation, service, and shared experiences. Our hope is that every gathering helps families grow closer to Christ, strengthens their relationships with one another, and inspires them to live their faith throughout the week.
